Our purpose is simple…to show love to others in the name of Jesus Christ. It is God’s love that compels us to love others in His name. God loves us so much He wants to have a relationship with Him. 1 John 4:8 states that “God is love.” Love is His character and this perfect love influences all His actions towards us.
“How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! (1 John 3:1)
And that is what we are!
We are all born with a sinful nature, and are kept away from God’s great love for us. God’s Word says,
“All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23) God is ready to forgive our sins as soon as we ask for forgiveness and believe that Jesus Christ died for us and lives today. God’s Word says, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins.” (1John 1:9) “Everyone who believes in Him receives forgiveness of sins.” (Acts 10:14)
God wants each person to be part of His forever family. God’s Word says, when we become part of God’s family through faith in Jesus, we receive the awesome gift of eternal life. God’s Word says,
“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)
