Christmas Projects

Each year, for the past six years, we have coordinated a Bridge Ministries Christmas Project. A grassroots movement, the Christmas Project has become an exciting holiday tradition for the many families affiliated with Bridge Ministries. You can learn more about our Christmas Projects under Our History, but here’s a brief synopsis.

In 2006, we donated 500 pairs of shoes to primary students in the Mathare Valley.

In 2007 and 2008, we provided three to four-months of food per family, one for each family of the school children. This included rice, beans, cornmeal, the bucket itself, and even a live chicken! In addition to this, extra buckets of food were given to local pastors. Pastors were asked to give these as part of a community outreach to desperate families within the community.

In 2008, we started paying the teacher salaries at one of the Mathare outreach schools. They were not always being paid, and almost never on time. We also started a small medical coverage plan to cover any staff or their spouses’ medical emergencies.

In 2009, 2010 and 2011, we financed summer camps for many elementary school children. Vacation Bible Schools were introduced as well. Learn more about that here!
